PSYCHOTIC AND EROTIC: RARE FILMS BY TINTO BRASS
Sept 24 & 28
Though best known for his derriere-obsessed erotica, Italian filmmaker Tinto Brass’ earliest films are hallucinatory, experimental oddities. Though they always contain sexy undertones, these early works show a more avant-garde side of this unique artist. Both works will be presented in new, uncensored digital transfers, supervised by the director.
DEADLY SWEET
Sun, Sep 28, 7:30 pm
A psychedelic pop art thriller, starring 17-year-old Ewa Aulin (Candy) and Jean-Louis Trintignant. An actor finds his business contact murdered. He decides to track down the killers, putting him on a collision course with the London underworld. This leads us through a mind-bending series of visuals by renowned erotic cartoonist Guido Crepax and a seductive rock score by Armando Trovajoli. An outrageous attempt to turn the crime genre on its head. (1967, 107 min, digital video)
