A healthy landscape is worth thousands of dollars to the value of a home, but improper pruning ruins more trees and plants each year than pests. The Springs Preserve will hold a community-wide pruning clinic Saturday, January 8, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Hosted by prominent Las Vegas horticulturalist Linn Mills, this half-day event gives residents access to the valley’s top plant experts, including KNPR commentator Norm Schilling.

With a little guidance, homeowners can learn simple techniques that improve plant quality, health and growth. Attendees will experience hands-on-demonstrations on the proper ways to prune trees, shrubs, ornamental grasses, perennials, roses, herbs and fruit trees along with composting, irrigation, pruning basics, plant health and nutrition.

Admission to this event is only $5 per person or free with general admission. For more information, call 822-7786 or visit www.springspreserve.org.
