Christopher Clowdus, Artistic Director. Concluding its 17th season of concerts, the Empire City Men's Chorus premieres a newly-commissioned choral work, by award-winning American composers Charles Norman Mason and Dorothy Hindman, exploring the timely and politically-charged issue of marriage equality. Based on secular poetry and prose concerning marriage, relationships and partnerships of all communities and including texts by Gertrude Stein and Walt Whitman, the piece adds a classical music voice to the growing dialogue around us. The chorus will also perform works by Heitor Villla-Lobos, Claude-Michel Schoenberg, Morten Lauridsen, and Randall Thompson. Noted organist Christopher Johnson will accompany the Chorus.
