Predators and scam artists are finding ways into your home through the Internet, attempting to wreak havoc on you and your loved ones. Rather than live in fear with every click of the mouse or stroke of the keyboard, attend the City of Corona’s online safety presentation and learn ways you can prevent unwanted spam and spyware and help protect your family from online threats. The 1 ½ hour informative workshop, presented by Corona Police officials, will include information about malware, phishing scams, online predators and their use of chat rooms and social networks and how to avoid online threat.
Free and open to the public, the Internet Safety workshop is part of a monthly awareness program to educate the general public about important issues that affect everyday lives and how to prepare for emergency situations. Upcoming awareness programs include earthquake preparedness, recycling, endangered species, summer/water safety, fire prevention and much more.
