Propagating Native Shrubs Workshop June 11, 2011

Horticulture Instructor George Thomas teaches this introductory class in nursery propagation techniques with native shrubs. In this 4-hour demonstrative workshop, students will gain hands-on experience in various methods of propagating native shrubs such as Itea, Clethra, Calycanthus, Callicarpa and more. Participants will learn how to prepare cuttings for sticking and how to use rooting hormone. Misting and rooting-in will be covered, and participants will each go home with several cuttings of their own for "growing-on". Call 665-2492 x 317 to reach the Registrar's desk.
