Professional Paralegal Academy July 16, 2011

The Professional Paralegal Academy program will prepare you to assist a Lawyer and conduct interviews, perform manual and online research, investigate facts and perform background checks. The program is 400 hours in length, including a 18- hour externship to provide you with a complete learning experience.

As a paralegal you will draft legal documents, correspondence and pleadings as well as attend and summarize depositions, court hearings, trials and/or administrative hearings.

Community Job Survey: Starting pay is $17-25 per hour. Employment of paralegals and legal assistants is projected to grow 28 percent between 2008-2018, much faster than the average for all occupations. Employers are trying to reduce costs and increase the availability and efficiency of legal services by hiring paralegals to perform tasks once done by lawyers.

Certification: Upon Successful completion graduates will receive a certificate of completion.
