Hardly anyone ever went to school to learn how to lead communications for a nonprofit—this workshop is as close you can come. Participants in PMR, which has been delivered for 20 years now, have gone on to make careers as communication directors at large nonprofits and foundations. Find out why this cornerstone workshop has been called a nonprofit communications university. Updated to keep up with changes in news the sessions will cover:

Storytelling and strategy: in the news and online
Writing and pitching
Spokesperson skills for you or your boss
In this workshop, you will identify a story idea from your work or organization, refine it, and at the final session pitch it. Working journalists will be present to give instant feedback on what worked and what you might want to work on. They differ every year but they have included reporters from Associated Press, Chicago Public Radio, Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Tribune, and many more—participants in this workshop have often ended up getting some coverage. Also included in the price of the workshop is 1 copy of Getting On Air, Online & Into Print media guide and a media handbook, SPIN Works.
Cost is $395, (same price since 2005)
