By Professor David Stuart, Physics Department, UCSB
The Large Hadron Collider, LHC, is a new particle accelerator situation near Geneva. With an energy level much beyond previous experiments, this enormous, 5-mile diameter machine will help us study nature’s fundamental interactions in unprecedented ways. Prof. Stuart will give us a virtual tour, and discuss its underlying technology, and the science that motivates it all, including super-symmetry, extra dimensions, and anti-matter!
