Private Lives/Public Faces: the Art of Portraiture December 16, 2006

In approximately sixty paintings, prints, photographs and sculptures, including selections from the miniature portrait collection, 'Private Lives/ Public Faces' will trace this fascinating history of portraiture in America. From presidents to anonymous immigrant youths, the resulting show will be a diverse portrait gallery of Americans and their private/public image from the last three hundred years.
