The Birth Attendants Is Seeking:

Volunteers to support community education and outreach projects and to participate in
upcoming events:



*Reproductive Justice Week of Action - April 16th- 23rd, 2008



*Secret Cafe/Benefit Show- May 17th, 2008



Our community education project links our vital work inside prisons to the greater issues surrounding incarceration and works toward creating pathways of knowledge for western Washington communities about incarceration and its effects.



Internships Available:

Spring 2008

Summer 2008

Fall 2008



You can earn one quarter credit for each 2.5 hours per week that you work at your internship during the ten weeks of an academic quarter (2.5 hours
x 10 weeks = equals 1 credit).<.br>
The minimum time commitment is 10 hours per week for 4 credits.

For 8 credits you would need to work 20 hours per week for ten weeks.

For 12 credits, it's 30 hours per week.

For 16 credits, it's 40 hours per week.



Program Coordinator Zimryah Barnes will be working as Field Supervisor.

In addition to her support you will also be working closely with participants of the doula collective, organization staff and board members.



position: "Collective Doula Member, specializing in direct services/Prison Doula Project"



This position is approximately 25 hours per month (an average of 7.5 hours per week).



This time is designated for 2.5 hours of weekly collective meetings (10hours a month) and 5 hours a week (three times a month) of direct service
work for three doulas.



*The Prison Doula Project*

provides pregnancy, labor, and post-partum doula services and popular education style childbirth education classes to women incarcerated in Washington State.
