Printz Dance Project presents HOVER SPACE November 30, 2011

Printz Dance Project, one of the Bay Area's most accomplished and innovative dance companies is pleased to present HOVER SPACE - a groundbreaking, dance-based performance at Z Space (Theater Artaud) in San Francisco.

This single themed evening length show will investigate what takes place in the rich, chaotic, risky, intimate, in-between spaces of life. It will utilize a large integrated set piece dubbed the "hover floor", a 12 by 16 foot stage space suspended from the ceiling of the theater on four chain motors. This stage-within-a-stage can raise and lower, but also tilt to extreme angles, affording dancers multiple planes to dance on and new ways to execute contemporary dance. The piece will unfold in 12 vignettes thereby creating space for the dancers to utilize the set both on and under and hanging off the "hover floor".

HOVER SPACE is choreographed by Stacey Printz, with set design by renowned engineer and designer Sean Riley. DJ and composer Mochipet will mix and perform the electronic musical score live. Lighting designer David Szlaza will add depth and layers to "Hover Space" by lighting both under and above the set piece. Costumes will be built by Catherine Myre. Dancers include, Dudley Flores, Jennifer Bregman, Stacey Printz, Sharon Gallagher, Nhan Ho, Suzy Myre, Joshua Lau, Elizabeth Chitty, Amanda Lacro, Kelsi Auday, Sadie Harcardt and Deborah Saputo.
