PRIDEChicago Celebration 2007
38th Annual Parade, Sunday June 24
Every year in Chicago, June Pride Month features dozens of social, cultural, athletic and political events. These events, that take place in different areas of the metro Chicago area, are organized by various community organizations and individuals.
Each year, PRIDEChicago compiles these events—creating the June Pride Month Calendar—and publicizes them in various ways, including: inclusion and updates on this web site; in the annual PrideGuide booklet; in mailings, and in ads placed in local publications. If there is an event that an organization, group or individual wants to schedule during June Pride Month, all they have to do is to organize it, and it can be added to the calendar.
PRIDEChicago's primary responsibility is to coordinate (ie.: set up the legal and physical structure) of the Annual Pride Parade in East Lakeview. The parade is scheduled each year for the last Sunday in June.
Packets containing forms to: 1) register for the parade; 2) advertise in the PrideGuide booklet; 3) sponsor a portable restroom along the parade route; and 4) list an event on the June Pride Month Calendar, are sent out every year during the first week of March to businesses, organizations and individuals. To be added to the mailing list to receive the registration packet, contact PRIDEChicago below. (Send your snail mail address to receive the packet.)
