Over 50% of Americans experiences heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Village Health Services and The Health & Wellbeing Guild will examine why these illnesses are at epidemic levels and what can be done on a practical basis to prevent or reverse their effects during a four week session to begin March 14th at The Center For Spiritual Living, Eugene. OR.

The series begins with the film Food Matters and continues with classes on detoxifying the body, an introduction to raw foods, and healthy cooking for different health conditions. The series takes place over four Saturdays. March 14 10:00 am-1:00 pm, March 28 1:00 pm-4:00 pm, April 4 10:00 am-1:00 pm, and April 18 10:00am-1:00 pm.

The series will be presented by Kalli Phillips, ND, a naturopathic, primary care physician, Justine Michaud, MA, HHC, a holistic health counselor, Marianna Beres, HHC, a holistic health counselor and healthy chef, and Myhra, a raw foods chef are the primary instructors. "If it is the right time for you to have as much control over your health and how you feel, we invite you to come and learn with us." Most of these chronic illnesses are preventable and even if you have them, you can learn how to better live with them.

Attendance at the film, Food Matters is by donation. The rest of the series is $35 per class or prepayment of $100 for the series. Food samples will be served during the April classes.

"Detoxifying the Body" Kalli Phillips, ND. Dr. Phillips is a primary care
naturopathic physician practicing at Village Health Services. She says:

Chef & Educator. You will learn a few of the many benefits (like spiritual
enlightenment) of introducing more live foods into your lifestyle. Myhra
will demonstrate the preparation of tasty live foods. Hear testimonials of
how this dietary change improves digestion, nutrition & health.

Saturday, April 18 10:00am-1:00 pm

"Quick, Healthy Meals" Marianna Beres, Healthy Chef, Holistic Health
Counselor & Food Coach. You will learn to create 3 quick healthy meals, once
again with kids in mind. Basic Miso Soup, its benefits and what other
ingredients can be added A quick whole wheat pasta dish with 4 different
herbs, fresh vegetables, garlic and goat cheese. A Gluten-free brownie with
secret, healthy ingredients.
