The Micro Mart in a Microbrewery has all sorts of comics for all sorts of people – vintage American and British comics and the latest Marvels and DCs; underground and small press comics; Civil War, the Ultimates and 52; European comics and manga; graphic novels and zines.

Prestonpandemonium III Comics & Graphic Novel Fair will take place on Saturday 31st May 2008 – 12.00– 3.00 p.m. at The Prestoungrange Gothenburg (“The Goth”), 227-229 High Street, Prestonpans, EH32 9BE.

Reasons to hop on a 26 bus, and jump off when you see a gigantic totem pole, include:

As if all this wasn’t reason enough to head for Scotland’s smallest comic fair, Visitors to PPIII might be interested in other 3 Harbours Arts Festival events:

· An exhibition by small press superstar Malcy Duff across the road from PPIII in The Potteries (Venue 7) where Ben Ewart Dean’s 7-minute film “Malcy’s Horses” is also being shown

· 2nd Prestonpans Mural Fest and Graffiti Car (11am to 6pm), nearby Cuthill Park (Venue 5)

· Live music, all afternoon from the Bands in the Pans bus sited in the Prestoungrange Gothenburg car park

When this year’s Prestonpandemonium draws to a close, a bus will be waiting to take visitors on a free guided tour of the National Library of Scotland exhibition, Local Heroes: The Art of the Graphic Novel.

This exhibition draws on material from the Library's vast collections to tell the story of how comics have 'grown up' over the past 40 years and reveals the influential role Scottish artists and writers have played in the evolution of the graphic novel as a serious art form.
