Book Reading with Stacey O'Brien, author of New York Times bestseller Wesley the Owl - Hear about Stacey's experience with Wesley and meet a live barn owl!
Stacey O'Brien, wildlife biologist and author of New York Times bestseller Wesley the Owl will talk about her 19 years as companion and guardian to Wesley, a barn owl. During her appearance, she will explain how she was able to communicate with Wesley in their own language, verbal and physical, and discuss Wesley's display of complex emotion, including affection and love. Many of Stacey's talks are unique, depending on the time allotted and the audience's familiarity with the book. She blends her personal stories with the biology of owls and other animals. The barn owl is provided courtesy of the South Bay Wildlife Rehab.
