The Coolidge Corner Theatre presents the Boston premiere of Lucky Days, an award-winning film written/directed by and starring acclaimed stage and screen actress Angelica Torn, only daughter of the late, legendary Oscar winner Geraldine Page and Emmy Award-winning actor Rip Torn. Angelica Torn will be joined after the screening by her father, Rip (Payday, Cross Creek, Men in Black, Wonder Boys), her brother and co-director, Tony, and other members of the film's cast for a panel discussion.
Produced by Rip Torn and the late Paul Newman, Lucky Days tells the story of Virginia, a 30-year-old woman patiently waiting for an engagement ring from her boyfriend of 18 years, until the reappearance of her childhood sweetheart forces her to make painful choices about life and love. The film was the last movie shot in the Coney Island amusement park, capturing images of its faded glory.
Angelica Torn is coming to Boston with the touring company of the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning play August: Osage County, which plays the Colonial Theatre May 4-9. In addition to her many theater credits, she has appeared in several films, including The Sixth Sense, Nobody’s Fool, and The Contender.
