Mark your calendars for the Povey-Tolar Lecture Series
at the Dougherty Arts Theater, 1110 Barton Springs Rd., on four Wednesday evenings this fall — Sept. 30th, Oct. 7th, Oct. 14th, and Oct. 28th —
as Edward Povey and D.L Tolar share their unique and unparalleled insight with Austin artists on how to establish a “successful” career in art. This long-awaited workshop for artists begins on Wednesday, September 30th, 7-9:30 p.m. at the Dougherty Arts Center. This “foundation” course presents many of the techniques and skills involved in establishing an art career. It delves into the underlying philosophical and psychological threats that confront artists in their pursuits — lack of self-confidence, lack of knowledge, lack of facilities. With a positive and dynamic approach, this course gives artists the foundation on which to firmly build an art career which pays the bills.
