The art of portraiture can illustrate expression, desire, vanity and likeness and is often coupled with sitters demands for portraits that exude pride, possessions and faultless features. In this new workshop for beginning to advanced studio artists, portrait artist Kathryn Klauber will introduce a gallery of great portraitists and historical portrait subjects to help participants understand the proportions of the human face and body and the choices artists make in representations. Participants will experiment with portrait sketching and will then create a portrait using a medium of their choosing.
