AFC Marks 20 Years of Creating Hope through Action on May 7
Legendary music icons, The Pointer Sisters, will join the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) as it marks 20 years of creating hope through action in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The 15th annual gala, Not Just Song & Dance: I?m So Excited, will be held May 7 at the Hilton Chicago. With unforgettable hits such as ?Jump (For Your Love),? ?Slow Hand? and ?Neutron Dance,? the Pointer Sisters are sure to keep the crowd on their feet all night long. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on extravagant travel packages, dine on delicious cuisine and dance the night away, all while contributing to AFC.
The Pointer Sisters experienced stunning success in the ?80s as they climbed the charts and won over hearts with rich, soulful voices, heartfelt songs and trend-setting style. The group is still in high demand and travels the world, entertaining adoring fans with high-energy music.
The AIDS Foundation of Chicago has been a local and national leader in the fight against HIV/AIDS for 20 years. Funds raised through Not Just Song & Dance will support the AIDS Foundation of Chicago?s grantmaking, policy and public education programs. Since 1988, AFC has provided more than $14 million in private grants to HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and advocacy groups throughout the Chicago area.
