Wordsmiths Books and the fabulous Poetry Atlanta collective have a long-standing collaborative history, and as such the two are thrilled to present the largest list of the best Atlanta poets ever (ever, ever!) to grace the Wordsmiths stage. The performing poets include: Jon Goode (seen on CNNs Black in America), Chelsea Rathburn, Beth Gylys, Karen Head, and Rupert Fike.
Capping off the afternoons poetry will be a special, stripped-down performance of local blues-poet legend Kodac Harrisons Reach for the Moon, in which Harrison will be accompanied by Kristan Markitan. Past performances of Reach for the Moon brought multi-night capacity crowds to various venues, so experiencing such an act in the intimate location of Wordsmiths is certainly a treat!
For this once-in-a-lifetime gathering of poets and performances, Wordsmiths is asking attendees to pay what they can upon entry (suggesting $5 a person), in support of our current "Save Our Bookstore Campaign.
