Santa Cecilia Orchestra presents Inauthentica
Poetic Music, Musical Poetry?
Chamber Music up close.... if you were any closer you would be playing.
The relationship between poetry and music is as old as the language of music. Nowhere is there a more nuanced expression of this than in chamber music. To open our chamber music season, we present a delightful and charming evening of music for unusual combinations of instruments – the performers are a sextet of bassoon, clarinet, viola, voice, flute and piano. We are particularly proud to include the compositions by two local composers; famed jazz pianist David Roitstein and vocalist Harmony Jiroudek.
Our vocal soloist for the evening, Harmony Jiroudek. Performers joining Jiroudek include Andrew McIntosh viola,
Julie Feves bassoon, Janice Tipton flute.
