Grammy nominated Plena Libre has made plena music – centuries-old African influenced music from Puerto Rico’s south coast – a mainstay in its vibrant, innovative sound. Trombone, guitars, barriles, vibraphone, accordion, quarto, flute, call and response vocals - all are enhanced by the rhythmic mix of Brazilian samba, bomba, Latin jazz and reggae.
