Pleasanton Harvest Festival Original Art and Craft Show September 16, 2011

The Pleasanton Harvest Festival® Original Art and Craft Show is returning to the Alameda County Fairgrounds September 16-18, bringing with it a brand new Scrapbooking feature that will add an interactive element to the event.

For the first time, the show will offer a ‘Shop and Crop’ feature, taking place during the event in the Hall of Commerce building. Die-hard scrapbook fans will get the rare opportunity purchase their own table space and spend the day scrapbooking, shopping and even staying late into the night to work on their scrapbooks, win prizes and socialize with friends in a lively atmosphere.

“We’re very excited to incorporate this new addition to our show and we believe this will bring a fresh, hands-on activity to the event” said Nancy Glenn, Harvest Festival Show Manager. “It will give true craft enthusiasts an opportunity to work on their scrapbooks and still be able to take a break to shop, have lunch and enjoy some fabulous entertainment.”

Space at the ‘Shop and Crop’ Scrapbooking area must be reserved by August 25, 2011, and the fees range in price from $30 up to $240. The special feature will be open from 10am – 10pm on Friday and Saturday and from 10am-4pm on Sunday. Anyone who purchases space on both Friday and Saturday will receive a free space for Sunday.

The Pleasanton Harvest Festival® has also brought in a wide variety of brand new entertainment acts that are sure to appeal to even the most discerning music fan. Making their debut on the Harvest Festival stage is the Bad Catz, a Sacramento-based band that plays a wide variety of Rock, Rhythm and Blues. Also based out of Sacramento and playing sets on the main stage are the Fargo Brothers. This group has played their unique brand of roots rock and roll at well over 3,000 shows across the country.

In each city that the show stops in, the Harvest Festival partners with non-profit organizations to help give back to each community. The Liberty High Cheer Squad, based out of Brentwood, CA, will be the official charity of the show and will receive a portion of the proceeds from shopping bag sales and all of the proceeds from the parcel check. The Alameda County Community Food Bank will also be at the Pleasanton Harvest Festival® handing out $2 off admission coupons to any attendees that bring non-perishable food donations to the event.

The Harvest Festivals boast over 24,000 handmade arts and crafts, including jewelry, woodturnings, art and photography, specialty foods, clothing, décor and more. Attendees can interact directly with vendors, watch artist demonstrations, taste delicious foods and enter to win amazing prizes, such as the grand prize Americana quilt.
