This new holiday show recounts the religious and cultural rituals historically practiced throughout the world during the winter solstice. Besides exploring the possible astronomical explanation for the biblical star over Bethlehem, 'Season of Light' takes you through the winter constellations, explains the reasons for the seasons, and tells about some of our more lighthearted seasonal traditions, from gift giving and kissing under the mistletoe to decking the halls with greenery and candles. St. Nicholas, Kris Kringle, Father Christmas, and Santa Claus all put in an appearance, too. Narrated by NPR's Noah Adams.
