PLAID

Plaid is a British electronic music duo comprised of Andy Turner and Ed Handley, taking their name from the different interweaving threads of plaid cloth. They are former members of The Black Dog and used many other names, such as Atypic (Andrew Turner) and Balil (Ed Handley), before settling on Plaid. They have collaborated with female singers Mara Carlyle, Nicolette and Björk, and have released records on the labels Clear, Peacefrog, Black Dog Productions, and Warp Records. Aside from their own material, Plaid have done extensive remix work for many other artists, including Red Snapper, Björk, Goldfrapp, and The Irresistible Force. Parts in the Post (2003) contains just a handful of Plaid's remix work to date. Plaid often works collaboratively with video artist Bob Jaroc, whose animations often accompanied the music during live performences. They have developed a DVD consisting of new material and video artwork to accompany the music, entitled Greedy Baby. The project was completed on July 20 2005, and was first shown at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in the South Bank Centre, and subsequently at the BFI Imax cinema in Waterloo, London. Greedy Baby was released on DVD from Warp Records on June 26, 2006.

RENA JONES

A multitalented composer, producer, audio engineer, sound designer, violinist, cellist, and vocalist, Rena Jones has been described as "The revered daughter of San Francisco's electronic music scene" -- OEM Radio. Rena has had multiple tours within the US and Europe. Playing at some of the worlds leading electronic music festivals such as, The Glade Festival (UK), Shambhala (B.C.), Burning Man (Nexus, Entheon Village), and many of the worlds more popular nightclubs and also some of the hottest nightspots in San Francisco including The Warfield, 1015 Folsom, The Cow Palace, 550 Barneveld and she held a residency at The Supperclub in San Francisco, CA Rena has also released three epic solo albums, “Breaking the Divide” (2004), “Transmigration” (2005) which were self released and “Driftwood” (2006) on Native State Records which was number 6 on the most essential albums of 2006 for Echoes Radio NPR.

SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN

Scientific American is the musical alias of Seattle-based Andrew Rohrmann. After establishing himself as a member of Seattle's indie rock scene with his band Hush Harbor, Scientific American became interested in the idea of using the computer as his primary instrument. His solo productions, which incorporate elements of electronic dance music, hip-hop, and rock, have been used by The Seattle Art Museum, the Sound Unseen Film Festival in Minneapolis and for well-known television ads promoting Hewlett Packard and Discover. In 2001 Rohrmann formed a production company along with Plastiq Phantom named Polar Empire. They have done commercial compositions for clients such as Nike, MTV, Volkswagen, and AMC. He has completed critically praised remixes for a number of indie favorites including Modest Mouse, 764-Hero, and Red Stars Theory.

STRUGGLE

All you need to know about Struggle is that he will be bringing with him a mighty stack of heavy mutant bass weight. With this, he intends to squash any notions that the movement known as DUBSTEP is a passing mode soon to be forgotten. Many are convinced that this advanced and constantly evolving sound will play a significant part in the future of electronic music. Struggle is one of them.
