Pius Cheung, Marimba Player March 3, 2009

Born in Hong Kong, Pius Cheung started to learn piano at age five and marimba at age nine at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. At age 10, he made his solo debut as a marimbist in Hong Kong in 1993. He is a recent graduate of the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia. In 2008 he won First Prize in the 2008 Young Concert Artists International Auditions. As a composer, Pius has written numerous works for the marimba.
