Pittsburgh took center stage as the main shooting location of "Batman: Dark Knight Rises" this past year, and the wait for its premiere is nearly over. So, in light of the movies opening we are featuring a brand new exhibit "Pittsburgh as Gotham" at the Toonseum starting on July 21st.
The "Pittsburgh as Gotham" exhibit will feature original art from a variety of "Batman" comics by regional artists, props from the "Dark Knight Rises," as well as photos featuring Pittsburgh as Gotham.
Featured artists include Wayne Faucher, Ron Frenz, Michael Kaluta, Scott McDaniel, Chris Moeller, Pat Oliffe, Rob Rogers, Jim Rugg, John Totleben, Dave Wachter and Mike Zeck. Props include the original Batman cowl worn in the movie and on loan from Warner Bros. Studio Archives, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl’s costume from the film and other unique items.
The "Pittsburgh as Gotham" exhibit will run from July 21st-Oct 7th. If you are interested in seeing the exhibit on opening day please purchase tickets to the Toonseum's biggest fundraiser of the year "Gotham Nights." Gotham Nights will take place on July 21st and all of our VIP attendees will get to see the brand new exhibition as well as a special performance by Jimmy Krenn.
The main event will feature special guests Jimmy Krenn, Rob Rogers and Rick Sebak, a silent auction as well as lots of delicious dishes from local vendors.
