On Saturay, April 17, 2010, The Red Room at Cafe 939 will be welcoming Berklee's very own Pitch Slapped. The group will be performing at The Red Room for an evening of a cappella.
Pitch Slapped is a unique group of students Berklee College of Music, being the only coed a cappella group from the school. Their beginnings are in 2006, founded by Cate Wright and Mary Dooley. For the past three years, they have been gigging in the Boston area; one might have even seen them casually performing on Newbury Street. The repertoire of the group reflects their versatility, including the genres of R&B, Pop, and Rock.
In the two most recent ICCA's (International Competition of Collegiate A Cappella), Pitch Slapped have been the Northeast Quarterfinal Champions, and after taking the Semifinal title last weekend, will be advancing to the finals of the competition. With such a prestigious record to represent their school, Pitch Slapped is sure to perform a fantastic show at The Red Room.
Tickets for this show are free and can be obtained in advance at the Berklee Performance Center Box Office.
