Brooklyn, NY, Saturday, March 12, 1pm, the Irondale Center presents Big Box of Distractions, a fun-filled day for kids and families. On March 12, Big Box of Distractions will be a swashbuckling, exciting Pirate workshop where Kids will work with a professional fight director Brad Lemons to learn the fundamentals of stage combat; including moves, technique and safety. This is for every boy or girl (ages 10 +) who dreams of being in their own adventure fantasy
Brad Lemons is the assistant fight director for Irondale’s current production of Treasure Island, directed by highly acclaimed fight director, B.H Barry.
About Brad Lemons
Brad Lemons has worked with B.H. Barry for the past ten years on numerous productions including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on Broadway, Hamlet, Macbeth, Othello and Evil Dead: The Musical Off –Broadway, and multiple operas at the Metropolitan Opera House. Additionally, he has directed fights for The New Jersey Rep, Cornell University, SoHo Playhouse, LaMama Etc, Columbia University, Connecticut Opera Company, Lafayette University, The Guild Hall, and many others. Some of the productions he has worked on include White Noise, Romeo & Juliet, The Wild Party, Zastrozzi, Twelfth Night, King Lear, Rashomon, Oleanna, Carmen, Klonsky & Schwartz, “All My Children” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.” Brad has taught classes at Julliard, Mannes School of Music, Cornell University, Lafayette College, The Martina Arroyo Foundation, New York Film Academy, HB Studios, and he currently teaches at the New York Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, Broadway Classroom, and Circle in the Square Theatre School.
