Pink Bits is about the coexistence of the mainstream taboo and fashion. The artist?s comment on the high gloss. The colour pink is glorified and worshiped by the eros we breath. Once ?bits? become re-contexulised the objective turns into a domestic entourage of bliss and the schizophrenic ingestion of imagery. Memory is locked in the space; the square runs free from its naturalised existence - its learnt environment. Forbidden yet not forgotten, pink bits? sensational elements lay beneath the underbelly of society. New works by artists Mark Gerada, Alex Davies, Shann Preece, James Hancock, Rully Zakaria and Melletios Kyriakidis explore a heightened reality through the ingredients of candy. Pink musk-sticks poke and lick with their sweet sweetness to evoke the public in a gaze, conjuring up the orifice of visual and audio stimulation.
