Girls Like Me
Award-winning comedy performer Morgan Brayton returns with her popular show Girls Like Me at the Waterfront Theatre June 29th to July 8th. If you missed this critically acclaimed show at last year's Vancouver Fringe Festival, if you're a fan of the sketch podcasts from the show on wayoutwest.tv or if you're one of the many people who saw the show and want to see it again and again and again, here's your chance! Girls Like Me runs Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 pm and tickets are $15 (CASH ONLY!). Part of the Granville Island Cultural Society's Summer at the Waterfront Program.
Written and starring Morgan Brayton (30 Helens, Funny & Gay Show with Scott Thompson, Double Exposure presents The Snides of March) and directed by John Murphy (The Heretic, GutWrench), Girls Like Me features a collection of Morgan's favourite female characters and some fresh new material to keep things exciting.
Meet middle-aged mom Button Bradley on the occasion of her first Women's Studies class. Root for nervous neophyte exotic dancer Cherry Lipsmacker as she takes to the stage and dances her way into your heart. Find out whether
Abby's having a boy, a girl or an axe murderer. And get a lesson in becoming a woman from Lizzie who learned about her fallopian tubes today at school. And yes, there will be haiku.
Special guest appearances will be made by local comedy favourites Kathryn Kirkpatrick, Kevin Lee, John Murphy and Christina Sicoli.
