Pine Needle and Gourd Basketry November 20, 2010

Learn to make a gourd basket embellished at the top with coiled pine needles. This class covers gourd preparation, cleaning and drilling, gourd dyeing, gathering and preparation of pine needles, coiling and shaping the pine needles, and adding final embellishments. You will make a complete gourd basket by the end of class that will be a beautiful addition to your home decor. Includes handouts and materials list. Class materials: Small scissors with sharp points. Optional: a small saw for cutting out gourd (such as used to cut out pumpkins).
