Join fellow parishioners in a journey through the Passion of Christ along this half-mile trail in St. John, Indiana. The trail provides a prayerful environment where people can open their hearts and draw closer to the Lord.

Built in 2001, the journey consists of 40 life size bronze statues. It begins with the Last Supper and Garden of Gethsemane. You journey through the Passion of Christ as depicted in the Stations of the Cross. Each setting has a listening station so you can hear a description of the scene along with a corresponding prayer.

Then visit the Sanctity of Life shrine, built in loving memory of the innocent victims of abortion and dedicated to the sanctity of life, this shrine features a black tombstone in honor of the unborn and a bronze statue of Jesus with tears running down His face, holding an unborn baby. You can also visit a hand-carved Italian marble statue of Mary, the centerpiece of the Marian Wayside Shrine built in 1954 and the Our Lady of the Millennium Statue.

Our Pilgrimage will start on Saturday, May 21st at 8:30am in the St. Mary Immaculate parking lot. Motor coach (bus) transportation will be provided with our return to St. Mary’s by 3:45pm. We expect to arrive at the Shrine by 10:00am, walk the Stations of Cross (carts are also available), have lunch, tour the grounds and gift shop, and load-up for the return by 2:30pm.

To secure your seat on the bus, please stop at the table in the Commons after Masses on Sunday, April 17, May 1 and May 8. Bus service will be provided at a cost of $20.00 per person. A box lunch can be pre-ordered for you at a cost of $10.00 each. Admission to the Shrine is free.
