Pileated Woodpeckers at Boynton Park April 30, 2011

Join us as we go in search of the largest woodpecker in Massachusetts. Boynton Park is one of the few locations in Worcester where this crow-sized woodpecker can reliably be found. The pileated woodpecker maintains large territories and needs mature trees for nesting. We'll look for its distinctive feeding signs as well as other wildlife as we enjoy this beautiful park in spring. Registration is required. Call 508-753-6087 for details.
