To celebrate its grand opening, Pigtails & Crewcuts, Katy’s premier child-friendly salon, is teaming up with its new neighbor, Texas Children’s Hospital West. Over a two-week period beginning August 14, parents of Katy kids are invited to bring a gently used book to Pigtails and Crewcuts to be donated to the Texas Children’s Hospital Library. With each book that is donated, children will receive $2 off a haircut while an additional $2 will be given to the hospital library. On two Saturdays during the book drive, kids are also invited to “Color for a Cause” by creating their own artwork using crayons and paper provided by Pigtails & Crewcuts. The drawings will be framed and given to Texas Children’s Hospital to decorate the rooms of terminally ill children. Kids will also enjoy sweet treats and festivities such as cotton candy and face painting as a thank you for their generosity. As part of the grand opening activities, the Katy Chamber of Commerce will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony, complete with a raffle.
