ArtsEmerson: The World On Stage presents Pieces Of April. This sharp and intelligent indie jewel revolves around the subversively punk April who attempts to make amends with her family by preparing Thanksgiving dinner in her tiny New York apartment. As her suburban parents and siblings make their way to the city, April discovers her oven has stopped working and must turn to her recalcitrant neighbors to help her cook the perfect turkey. Patricia Clarkson gives a wry, wonderful performance as April’s cancer-battling mother.
