Dr. Edward Strauman, associate professor of music at Chestnut Hill College, will join jazz pianist Joan Stiles for a concert, “Piano x 2: Stiles + Strauman Duo” on Thursday, November 10 at 7 p.m. in the East Parlor of St. Joseph Hall.
Strauman and Stiles, who are both jazz pianists and composers, will present two-piano improvisations on standard, original, and classic jazz pieces. Selections include a rare performance of Duke Ellington’s and Billy Strayhorn’s “Tonk,” as well as arrangements from Stiles’ new album, Three Musicians.
