Phyllis Bennis is Senior Fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS), the country's oldest progressive think tank. At IPS, she is Director of the New Internationalism Project, which works towards the goal of crafting a new kind of UN-centered, democratic, and people-based internationalism.
Books by Phyllis Bennis include _Before and After: U.S. Foreign Policy and the September 11th Crisis_; _Calling the Shots: How Washington Dominates Today's U.N._; and her most recent, _Challenging Empire_.
Bennis' talking points papers, written for and distributed by progressive groups like United for Peace and Justice, have long provided valuable insights and served as essential guides to the complex issues of the Middle East and international relations. This promises to be a very informative evening.
