For over 20 years Phranc has turned the familiar notion of the singer/songwriter on its traditionalist ear. Bursting onto the L.A. punk scene in 1985, the self proclaimed "Jewish lesbian folksinger" has explored novelty songs, stylized performing (in drag as Neil Diamond) and more straighforward folk music fare. Though not extremely prolific, Phranc was and is an icon among alternative and lesbian musicians, as well as folksingers everywhere.
