This weekend workshop is dedicated to experiencing the making of a carbon print. The Carbon Process was developed in the 1860's and is recognized for it's wonderful tonal range and exquisite details in low values. The carbon print is a direct transfer process where the initial image is transferred to a final support paper. The workshop will cover, making the carbon tissue, sensitizing the tissue, making the print and transferring the image. Students are expected to bring the appropriate negatives since the carbon print is a contact print process; the size of the negative dictates the size of the final print.
