Our Photography Foundations - Level 1 course is perfect for those new to digital photography. This course will begin to cover the essential principles you need to take great shots with your digital camera.
The main focus of this course is beginning to understand some of the key elements of photography as well as the most important functions of your camera. Throughout the one day workshop, you will receive hints, tips and practical advice as well as some theory to help you start discovering the world of digital photography.
On location with your tutor, you will be assigned to document an illustrious location in London (a park, a pub, a market, a historical place, a street, an event, etc.) and describe the place’s character through its people, building, colours, environment, businesses and local activities.
If you are new to digital photography, this course/workshop is perfect for you. Photography Foundations – Level 1 is also suitable for those who have used their camera for some time but would like to learn the basics from the beginning.
Level 1 content:
- Introduction to DSLR and camera handling
- Aperture (F/Stops & depth of field)
- Shutter Speed (freezing and capturing motion)
- ISO settings
- File formats (Tiff, JPEG, Raw)
- Learning from your mistakes
- Examples of locations: Borough Market, Portobello Market, Waterloo Bridge, Westminster Bridge, Tower Bridge, Covent Garden, Soho & West End
What you will need:
-Digital SLR camera (some compact camera’s with setting options may be suitable)
- Memory card(s)
- A note book
- Spare battery (not essential, as long as you’re fully charged!)
*Please note - the venue is a meeting point, shooting will take place on location*
