This workshop is for photographers who want to use text with their photographs. Everyone knows what photographs are and how they function. We know that most photographs do not require an accompanying text, not even a title, and you can safely leave the reading or meaning of these photographs to the viewers own interpretation. But then there are those few photographs whose soul purpose for having been made is to convey a succinct idea or notion and the only way of achieving this is to add text, text of course, that will not detract from the photograph. During this workshop, students will explore the idea of text as picture and the many ways in which text can be made to function as an integral and harmonious part of the whole.
