In this intermediate course students refine their technical and creative skills in digital photography. Through lectures, group discussions, and critiques students work toward developing a personal vision. Slide presentations on historical and contemporary artwork introduce different genres of photography, including portraiture, landscape, and documentary. Using Adobe Lightroom, students formulate their own sense of workflow and efficiency for sorting and editing images, fine-tuning image adjustment skills, and creating black-and-white inkjet prints.
There will be occasional shooting trips and museum and gallery visits outside the class. Although these are not mandatory, students are encouraged to attend.
This class runs in conjunction with the Photographic Vision II traditional darkroom class.
