April 15 - June 2, 2013; Artist's opening reception Saturday, April 20, 4-7pm
Transposition, photographs by Steve Landeros opens on April 15, 2013 at the new 4x5 Gallery located in the Lower Haight. Featuring 15 black and white prints by Bay Area-based photographer Steve Landeros, which as Landeros notes "are tied to each other through the obvious black, white, and nine shades of grey."
Depicting the ordinary to aberrant, the architecture of man or nature, Landeros states his intention in creating the images is less about ceasing a moment and more about provoking thought, free from the distraction of color.
As the exhibition title suggests, Transposition is an act, process, or instance of exchanging elements in form or nature. For 4x5 Gallery owners Gordon Szeto and Hung Tran the exhibition enables them to continue to highlight emerging photographers, bring forth fresh perspectives and offer a forum and marketplace for the exchange of ideas and display of photographic talents from around the Bay Area.
