American pianist David Shimoni was the winner of the 2001 National Federation of Music Clubs Young Artist Auditions. He has given solo recitals in Los Angeles and New Orleans and has performed at Carnegie Recital Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. He has been a guest soloist at the Chautauqua Institution and Brevard Music Festival and with the International Chamber Ensemble of Rome and Chappaqua Orchestra. As a chamber musician, Mr. Shimoni regularly performed at the Foothills Chamber Music Festival in North Carolina from 1999-2004. In 2006 he performed with the award-winning Jupiter String Quartet at the Banff Centre in Canada. Dedicated to reaching new audiences, he has given outreach concerts throughout the United States in affiliation with the Piatigorsky Foundation. Mr. Shimoni's 2007-2008 engagements include a solo recital on the Dame Myra Hess series in Chicago, IL and vocal recitals at the Dallas Museum of Art and on the Artist Series of Sarasota. He holds degrees from Swarthmore College and the Juilliard School, where he was awarded the Vladimir Horowitz Scholarship.
