Oliver Aldort (14), is the MTNA state, regional and national winner (2007), the SYAMF senior (14-19) concerto winner and medal receiver (2008), and a student of world-renowned cellist, Lynn Harrell. He has been a soloist with orchestras in Washington, Massachusetts, and British Columbia. He has played the Saint Saens, Haydn, and Schumann cello concertos and Mozart's two late piano concertos. As winner of the SYAMF, Oliver will be appearing with the Seattle Symphony later this concert season. He has appeared on KOMO TV, and was featured on national public radio in the program "From the Top" recorded live in Jordan Hall in Boston. He was also heard on CBC radio in Vancouver and has appeared as a chamber music player with Beethoven Duke trio, Schumann quartet in F major and more. Currently he is studying counterpoint with Professor Clenman and conducting with Roupen Shakarian. For Oliver, the greatest pleasure of his musical career is performing. From his debut recital at the age of seven (after one year of lessons), Oliver's love of performing has only increased. The Carlsen Foundation in recognition of his talent and dedication to music has awarded Oliver's full-size cello to him.
