Pennsylvania Sea Grant will host a public Pharmaceutical Pollution Task Force meeting on Friday, April 15.

The day-long event will be held at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center, 301 Peninsula Drive.

Pennsylvania Rep. John Hornaman and Dr. Elliott Cook, assistant professor in the LECOM School of Pharmacy, are the meeting co-hosts. “This meeting will provide an overview of the current state of pharmaceutical medication disposal in an effort to help our Pennsylvania lawmakers craft their upcoming legislation for equitably funded and environmentally friendly disposal of unwanted medication,” Marti Martz, coastal outreach specialist with Pennsylvania Sea Grant, said. “We welcome input from the public, because everyone who uses Lake Erie as their water source certainly has a vested interest in the outcome of this legislation.”

Reservations for meeting attendance are appreciated and can be made to Martz by phoning 814-217-9015 or e-mailing mam60@psu.edu.
