I know what your movie-going mind is thinking,"This is not a cheap event to attend." Decent seats will cost around $70 a pop but it is well worth it. Yeah, I know. You can buy the "Phantom" DVD for $15, a player to play it on and popcorn with a 2 liter Coke for that kind of loot and have big time change left over.
Puhleeze! We're talking about a live theatre event that I assure you will be remembered the rest of your life. If you don't have a romantic bone in your body, don't bother going. But if you do, take your significant other and see why this is still a hot ticket wherever it plays as a Broadway event. My wife has seen this at both KY Center Whitney Hall and in NYC. As an older show in NY it is relegated to a smaller, technologically less advanced venue than here. It is a bigger, better show here in her opinion. We will be going again even at these prices. It is actually only $5 more than last time around and well worth it.
The larger the party going the harder it is to find seats together. 2's are the easiest. Forget the front row mentality. You aren't looking to touch or take photos of Kenny Chesney or Mick Jagger. By the way, how much were those tickets? Tickets in Row G and further to about N are not too far. It's a big stage and you don't want to suffer from front-row mmovie screen syndrome. You see more of the stage and from a higher level further back without feeling like you're at a ping pong match. Back that far the row is about 60 seats wide with no center aisle. Seats between 20 to 40 is a good place to be.
You will be wowed by the stage magic and leave knowing why theatre, though very expensive to stage at this level, is still an entertainment bargain. That's why I will be going again and urge you to do the same. Tickets are going fast though, so don't delay long. It will probably be another 2 years before it returns, if then. Kenny, on the other hand, will be back again yearly or more often until he cools off, starts hitting the State Fair free concert circuit and the next new thing comes along. No offense meant KC. Just the nature of the beast.
See you at "Phantom"! You won't be disappointed. This is Movieman and as we say in the business,"That's a wrap."
