Petsmart's National Adoption Weekend w/ The Haven February 22, 2013

As National Prevent a Litter Month ends, Petsmart Charities will hold a 3-day National Adoption Week-end, February 22-24. During those three days, more than 2,000 animal welfare organizations across the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico will participate at over 1,210 Petsmart stores to find lifelong, loving homes for more than 16,800 dogs, cats and small animals. The Haven will be present each day from 11am to 3pm at the Eastern Shore Shopping Plaza Petsmart. All the organizations that participate, including The Haven, will receive $35 in adoption-reward grants from PetSmart Charities for every pet they adopt in stores during this event.
“Adoptions save lives”, said Michael Graham, executive director for the no-kill animal shelter in Baldwin County. "We help our municipal shelters, who are just as committed to animal welfare as we are, increase their save rate by networking, pulling animals, and providing ongoing support. The Haven is honored to serve our community in this capacity and we look forward to introducing many of these wonderful homeless pets to the public at this event". The Haven’s MARU (Mobile Adoption Rescue Unit), will be on site, loaded with the cutest dogs and cats you will ever meet. All Haven animals are up to date on all vaccinations, fixed, micro-chipped, de-wormed, flea free, tested for heartworms, and come with FREE 30 days of pet insurance, a FREE training DVD, and a FREE bag of Hill's Science Diet food. Fees to adopt are $90 for dogs and $65 for cats. In addition, well-known local artist, Jean Marie McDonnell, will be on site creating a dog or cat portrait with her paints, brushes and considerable talent. Ms. McDonell donates a portion of her sold art to The Haven and is available for appointments. All this is a bargain for anyone looking to add a pet to the family!
