In Hungry Planet: What the World Eats, the creative team behind the Material World books presents a photographic study of families from around the world, revealing what people eat during the course of one weeks’ time. Each family’s profile includes a detailed description of their weekly food purchases, photographs of the family at home, at market, and in the community, and a portrait of the entire family surrounded by a week’s groceries. The result is an indelible commentary on critical issues today. Menzel and D’Aluisio share what they’ve learned in their far-reaching travels in stories, reflections, and slides. This program is a collaboration between Cody’s and FCCB; a $10 donation is requested to help defray FCCB’s costs but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. 7:30 PM at First Congregational Church of Berkeley (2345 Channing Way at Dana, Berkeley)
